Tariscope filtering
Filtering is a feature that is most often used in call accounting systems and telecom billing systems. So Tariscope contains several different mechanisms for the application of data filtering.
Context filtering
This is the fastest type of filtering to apply. To find the required calls you only need to select a cell of a call table with the value that you want to filter data, right click and select the Filter by selection item in the appeared menu.
The same action you should perform to exclude calls with a specific value. In this case, you only need to select the Exclude selection menu item.
Quick filter
When you need a more complex filter, we recommend to use the Quick filter. The window of the filter is shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1
You can specify more than 20 different parameters of calls and combine these parameters with build-in filters or earlier saved filters. This filtering mechanism is sufficient for most purposes.
SQL filter
You can create any more complex query using the SQL filter that can take account of any fields of the Tariscope database. The intuitive interface allows you to create a SQL queries, even you are not familiar with Structured Query Language (SQL). An example of dialog to create a SQL query is shown in Figure 2.
Figure 2
A Tariscope user who knows SQL can directly write a query in the dialog.
Storing of filters
Tariscope allows to save filter parameters with specific name and apply this filter in the future. This significantly simplifies the work of a Tariscope user.
Base filter
When you initially create a view, Tariscope saves a filter that applies to the view as a base filter. When you apply the Quick filter or SQL filter in Tariscope, their filtering conditions combine with the base filter using the AND operator. The user can always come back to the base filter. Also the user can edit conditions of the base filter from the dialog of the view properties.
Build-in filters
To simplify the work of users, Tariscope contains built-in filters. This a set of filters that are most commonly used (Figure 3).
Figure 3
The user can combine these filters with any other filtering conditions.
View of filters
Tariscope contains a special view that displays a tree of filters as shown in Figure 3. The user can select any filter and modify it.
