Features of the Tariscope Observer service settings to receive call details from a remote computer службы Tariscope
The Tariscope Observer service (hereinafter the Observer service or Observer) is one of applications of the call accounting system of Tariscope Enterprise or billing system of Tariscope Provider. It is intended to receive call detail records (CDR, SMDR, AMA and so on) from a telephone system, processes these data and saves the results in the Tariscope database.
The Observer service can receive call data from various data sources. In this article we will look at some of the features of the Observer configuration when receiving CDR from files located on a remote computer.
By default, the Observer service is created with the rights of the LocalSystem user. The LocalSystem account has access rights only to certain resources of the local computer and cannot be used to remotely access files located on a remote computer.
Therefore, in order to configure Observer to receive files from a remote computer, you must create a user who will have the required rights (read or read/delete) on the folder that contains CDR files. The easiest way is for the username and password of this user on the remote computer to match the username and password of the user with whose rights the Observer service will work. On the computer where the Observer service will work, such a user must have permissions to enable it to start Windows services.
Next, go directly to the settings in the Tariscope Observer service.
In the Tariscope configuration tree, select the required Observer service or create a new one, as described in the article. When you create a new profile, the Observer service is immediately installed on Windows. To replace the LocalSystem user, we need to disable the service and uncheck the Use system account checkbox. The program window looks like as shown in Figure 1.

Delete LocalSystem from the User account box.
Suppose that we have created an account that will have access to a remote computer corresponding to an email address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. And this user has the rights to start services on a computer with Tariscope system or on any other computer where the Tariscope Observer service will run. In the User account box, enter: .\This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
A dot in the account means it is a local computer user. Instead of a dot, you can explicitly set the name of the computer.
In the password box, enter the appropriate password.
An example of such entering is shown in Figure 2.

Go to the Observer settings by clicking the Configure link or selecting the Configuration sub-branch of the configuration tree.
Here, in the Folder box, specify the path to the folder of the remote computer, after checking from Explorer that this folder is available for this user.
An example of such configuration is shown in Figure 3.

In this article we do not consider the other settings related to the source of folder/file. See their description the article.
Save your entries by clicking the Save icon in the toolbar.
Start the Observer service.
Go to the service log and make sure that it does not contain errors. If there are errors, it is necessary to understand their causes and fix them.
