Chapter 4 Tariscope configuration
4.11 Adding a new telephone system
4.11.7. Settings for Avaya Aura, S8800, S87xx, S8600, S8400, S8300, and Definity
This setting applies to Avaya PBXs such as Aura (Communication Manager), S8800, S8730, S8710, S8700, S8500, S8400, S8300, Definity.
Before making settings in the Tariscope system, you need to configure the issuance of CDRs in the PBX. All these PBXs have a customizable list and order of CDR fields, so the settings in Tariscope must correspond to this list and order.
An example of setting CDR parameters in such PBXs is shown in Figures 4.11.7.1 and 4.11.7.2.

Please note that the list of CDR fields must end with the return field, which means carriage return (CR). If it is not there, all call records will be recorded in one line. And as a consequence of this, only the first call in this line will be processed.
If you have selected the Avaya Definity item in the Equipment list (Figure 4.11.7.3), click on the Advanced settings button located to the right of the Equipment list. The Advanced settings window appears as shown in Figure 4.11.7.3.
Figure 4.11.7.3
The window allows to select fields and their order in which they were specified in PBX.
The window contains:
- The File extensions box. It contains a list of extensions of CDR files. By default, the TXT, LOG and CDR extensions are offered.
- The Row Delimiter list allows you to select the row delimiter that is used in your PBX.
There is a table with columns:
- Name. Displays field names that are used for configuration.
- Start. Displays a start position of the field.
- Length. Displays a field length in characters.
- End. Displays a position of the end character of the field.
- Enabled. A sign of use this field in CDR format.
- Description. A brief description of the field.
To change field settings, select the desired row and click on the Edit icon on the toolbar. The Advanced settings window changes its contents. An example of the window is shown in Figure 4.11.7.4.
Figure 4.11.7.4
Here, in the Name position, the name of the field is displayed. The field name matches the name used in the documentation for this PBX.
The Enabled flag enables or disables the use of this field in the CDR format.
In the Start position, set the initial (starting) position of this field. To quickly determine this position, you can use the value of the column End of the previous field. To remove a field from the CDR format structure, set the Start parameter to "0".
In the Length field, enter the length of this field in characters.
In the Date Format box, enter whatever you need. This setting is relevant only for the Date field.
Position Type allows you to set the format of the field. This setting can be used, for example, for a Date field that requires a specific date format. For other fields, you can leave the string value.
The Field mask position is used to check the correctness of the data entered. You can specify a regular expression in it. This is an optional parameter.
For proper processing of CDR data, Tariscope must remove spaces in the data. By default, the Delete spaces flag is set. Do not remove the flag in this position.
If the original CDR data string needs to be processed only if it contains this field, then set the flag in the Optional field position. If this flag is not set and the string being processed does not contain this field, then the string will be processed, but this field will be empty.
You can check if the settings are correct if you have a saved CDR data file from your PBX. To do this, click the Download link. Select the CDR file. Click Show. A table of processed fields is displayed. An example of this is shown in figure 4.11.7.5.

If you see an error, edit the settings for the corresponding field.
Click Save.
Repeat the described operation for all fields of the CDR record. After finishing setting the CDR format, save the settings in the Advanced Settings window.
