Tariscope and hotel systems
Tariscope contains a feature that allows it to interact with hotel systems. Typically, most hotel systems have interfaces to communicate with a PBXs and billing systems.
An interaction scheme of a hotel system with a PBX and Tariscope can be represented as shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1
The hotel system sends the control signals to the PBX, for example, to enable / disable a subscriber port, and it receives information about current status of a telephone, for example, a hotel room is busy for cleaning.
After a subscriber (hotel guest) has made call, PBX generates information about the call in a specific format for each particular PBX and transmits this information to Tariscope. Information about call has different names. The most common names are:
CDR (Call Detail Records);
SMDR (Station Message Detail Recording);
AMA (Automatic Message Accounting).
Tariscope supports a wide range of telephone systems from different manufacturers, including both traditional analog and digital PBXs and IP-PBXs. Tariscope processes the received information, determines the destination where the call was made, and produces its rating. The processed data is transferred from Tariscope to the hotel system.
Tariscope contains a Windows service (Tariscope Call Export), which provides an export of call information to the hotel system or other system through a serial (COM) or Ethernet ports. In the last case Tariscope can work as TCP server, TCP client, SSH client or Rlogin client. The data exchange between the Tariscope Call export service and the hotel system is determined by a script.
In the Tariscope installation package the Universal Interface Driver (IFC8:BARSUM Ver. 7.3.10 UNI_BRU or hereinafter "UNI") was implemented in the script. The interface cab be used with the hotel systems, such as Opera and Fidelio v.8 by Micros Systems, Inc. These systems are the de facto standard in the industry. The similar interface is used in other hotel systems, such as epitome PMS by Libra Hospitality and others.
If you plan to use a hotel system which does not support UNI, the Tariscope administrator can edit the script to support any algorithm of interaction between systems. If the Tariscope administrator can not write this script, please, contact our technical support.
The Tariscope Call Export can be installed on any computer that has a connection with a computer where the Tariscope Main service works.
